Children from the infants enjoying Longshaw's Adventure Trail.
Our new ICT suite now in full use.
We warmly welcome you and your family to Longshaw Primary School.
It is a Community Primary
School with a Nursery, which takes children from three to eleven years
old. We also have a Pre-School Play Group (Longshaw Little Tots) on
Tuesday mornings during term-time for children from birth to three
years old.
We aim to create a friendly, secure and inviting atmosphere where all
children are happy, eager and well motivated to learn. We have high
expectations of the behaviour and the success of every child. All
children are given an equal opportunity and a great deal of encouragement
to achieve their potential in all areas of learning.
We believe in close co-operation between School and home, and encourage
you to participate in your children’s education.
Over the weekend a gas pipe leading to our School Kitchen has broken underground. The gas board have attended the site and capped off the gas supply to ensure that the site is safe for everyone. This means that we are unable to cook any hot meals in our kitchen this week. All children have been provided with a packed lunch today.
For the remainder of this week all children who normally have a free school meal will be provided with a packed lunch. Children who have paid for a school meal should bring a packed lunch for the remainder of this week, and the money which they have already paid (£7) will be credited to the week after half term.
We are sorry for any inconvenience which this causes, and appreciate your assistance in these circumstances which are beyond our control and will be rectified as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
C. Kirkland
Headteacher
